Program News

This year will see us continue with some of the new programs introduced two years ago, including:

  • Optional dry-land training for Level 4 and up. This year we’ll begin earlier in the season to get some extra sessions in, starting on Saturday mornings in mid-October.
  • Thursday Evening Optional Ski for Level 4 and up. Another popular program that we’ll get started with as soon as there’s snow.
  • Jackrabbit Sprint & Games. We’re planning some changes this year so our littlest skiers have more fun, and will continue with lots of games going on around the team-sprints.

Some of the changes to the program this year are:

  • Cross Country Canada has eliminated the Level 5 program, so all skiers who’ve completed Levels 4 and 5 will move into the Track Attack program.
  • We’ll offer a few more of the Targets in the Track Attack program. We’re still working on which ones, but look for a backcountry skiing, a winter camp, or a ski orienteering session in late winter.
  • Training with Big Thunder. This will be available to skiers in Track Attack – the opportunity to participate in Tuesday evening dry-land training with Big Thunder, and then Tuesday evening ski sessions. Something for those kids who can’t seem to spend enough time on their skis!
